For my first style post I wanted to simply re-state the basics any fashionista should own
I am aware that it may not seem the best time to talk about shopping- especially when you realize that “The Essentials” are often luxury brand names – and in the current economy I understand that most people (including me) are trying to save money not spend it on expensive purchases. But I will explain in an upcoming post while I recently came to realize that it is actually a great time to invest in your life-lasting basics.
- The Burberry trench
- A Chanel quilted bag. personally I am obsessed with this pearly one - but a vintage find is even better. Being obsessed with bags I will most likely do a “bag essentials” post in the near future.
- A pair of Manolo Blahnik . will have you feet ready for any fancy party you feel obligated to attend-
- At least a couple of Levi’s in different cuts -according to your body type- the most obvious basics in my opinion
- A large assortment of cashmere sweaters in a wide array of colors (only in colors you feel comfortable wearing though..)
- Assuming everyone knows that the LBD (Little Black Dress – for the fashion “handicapped” is any stylish woman to go look- I would just add that one TLB clearly won’t be enough- I do have a full closet of TLB but anyone can make it work with about 5 different styles of them- and play around them to create new styles for many events (we all know it is all about accessorizing)
- At the very least one beautiful strand of pearl (with matching earrings) to channel your inner Audrey Hebpurn
- PETIT BATEAU: I can’t stop praising this European brand: Several basic T-shirts and pullovers cuts in every single color. GTN (aka good to know) : Grab a couple of mini-dresses in a 14 or 16 year old size for a super comfy mini nightgown
- A CHANEL suit just for its timeless class
