As some of you have noticed Eventista was down for a while as it turned out my url renewal somehow didn’t go through my url. Anyhow after much trouble and a long unexpected break and the spring weather Your Eventista is ready to take on the city again as early as next week.
Mostly focusing on upcoming projects I haven’t been out much besides attending the lovely Bryce Gruber’s Bday bash at Empire Hotel rooftop and the more recently St Jude’s”Chocolat au Vin” at Capitale as well as the annual award gala for the National Organization for Rare Diseases in DC.
The feeling that anything in life should be considered as an event is convincing me that this site will slightly be moving to more lifestyle oriented posts as your life is as eventful as you want it to be.
Like many New Yorkers I have been really sick recently- but worst of all I have been on bed-rest for several weeks due to some injury therefore being unable to attend many promising events to which I had RSVP’d. Knowing how I had turned into some sort of event-addict for the past three years I have lived in America I was sure I would become insane and that I would go against doctors’ s recommendations simply to attend these launches, Bday celebrations and more. Instead of that I found myself enjoying the time spent browsing the web for new sources of interests , online, shopping, books reading, having friends over (I did get them to report on some awesome parties I had “missed” but then what….this is New York- there will always be something else to attend - something better probably…), re-connecting with the reality basically, became part of my daily routine.
I have a few more weeks to spend in bed and I promised myself that I will change my daily habits from working all day , running from an event to another one and then try to keep this Eventistas.com as up to date as possible and start all over again to working all day, attend less “formal events” and more informal ones such as joining the girls for tapas, meeting an old time friend at some random venue I have never heard of. I pledge to be more open minded and see every opportunity as an event , from Housewarming parties to get together, launches, premieres and more. I believe this new vision will make it easier to keep this site constantly up to date…and to develop the Eventistyle section.
How would you get someone in their late 20s early 30s interested in Real World Brooklyn knowing that the original show has been going on for years and that the Brooklyn version is merely seen at an attempt from MTV to revive one of the show that launched Reality TV. What would push a well connected NY social type to watch such a show?
Due to their young age I refrained myself from telling them what I thought of their non-answer and how useless it was.Enjoy!
The Brooklyn season is not merely seen as an attempt to revive the show. The Real World Brooklyn DID revive the show and people in their late 20s and early 30s ARE watching the show. All eight of us receive messages daily from fans saying that they are so happy that the show finally dug back up its roots. We are very excited to have been able to be a part of bringing The Real World back to life and hope that our viewers continue to enjoy the season.
Both of them were really sweet but I hope that in a few years they will be able to provide more constuctive answers.
