Eventista is back on track

filed under: Eventista

As some of you have noticed Eventista was down for a while as it turned out my url renewal somehow  didn’t go through my url. Anyhow after much trouble and a long unexpected break and the spring weather Your Eventista is ready to take on the city again as early as next week.

Mostly focusing on upcoming projects I haven’t been out much besides attending the lovely Bryce Gruber’s Bday bash at Empire Hotel rooftop and the more recently St Jude’s”Chocolat au Vin” at Capitale as well as the annual award gala for the National Organization for Rare Diseases in DC.

The feeling that anything in life should be considered as an event is convincing me that this site will slightly be moving to more lifestyle oriented posts as your life is as eventful as you want it to be.

Event lifestyle change

filed under: Eventista

Like many New Yorkers I have been really sick  recently- but worst of all I have been on bed-rest for several weeks due to some injury therefore being unable to attend many promising events to which I had RSVP’d. Knowing how I had turned into some sort of event-addict for the past three years I have lived in America I was sure I would become insane and that I would go against doctors’ s recommendations simply to attend these launches, Bday celebrations and more. Instead of that I found myself enjoying the time spent browsing the web for new sources of interests , online, shopping, books reading, having friends over (I did get them to report on some awesome parties I had “missed” but then what….this is New York- there will always be something else to attend - something better probably…), re-connecting with the reality basically, became part of my daily routine.
I have a few more weeks to spend in bed and I promised myself that I will change my daily habits from working all day , running from an event to another one and then try to keep this Eventistas.com as up to date as possible and start all over again to working all day, attend less  “formal events” and more informal ones such as joining the girls for tapas, meeting an old time friend at some random venue I have never heard of. I pledge to be more open minded and see every opportunity as an event , from Housewarming parties to get together, launches, premieres and more. I believe this new vision will make it easier to keep this site constantly up to date…and to develop the Eventistyle section.

PR Design Group art exhibit/book launch

filed under: Launch, book

On March 3rd, Phillip Rossillo & Gustavo Penengo founders of the architecture & design firm PRdg, Inc. celebrated their company’s 6thBirthday withan art exhibit of their architectural work along withthe launch of a coffee table book of photography taken by the partners of their travels around the world. PRdg  along with Jordana PR did quite a good job at gathering an interesting crowd that was not limited to design enthousiasts but also including a  few socialites, and some cast members of MTV’s Reality Hit Series - Real World, Brooklyn; VH-1’s Reality Hit Series - Viva Hollywood and well-known chef Marco Moreira.

Guests enjoyed catered cuisine by 15 East & Tocqueville Restaurant whom had chefs preparing specialty fares on premises.  The open bar sponsored by Cafe Pilon, Sapporo Beer and NUVO Vodka quenched attendees’ thirst
As another sponsor The Blakely Hotel accomodated out of town guests.
If you missed out on the lovely design event the art exhibit and the book launch info is still in place Can by viewed by appointment.  Contact info can be found on PR Design Group website.
While there I asked Scott and Baya from “Real World, Brooklyn” the following question:

How would you get someone in their late 20s early 30s interested in Real World Brooklyn knowing that the original show has been going on for years and that the Brooklyn version is merely seen at an attempt from MTV to revive one of the show that launched Reality TV. What would push a well connected NY social type to watch such a show?

Due to their young age I refrained myself from telling them what I thought of their non-answer and how useless it was.Enjoy!

The Brooklyn season is not merely seen as an attempt to revive the show.  The Real World Brooklyn DID revive the show and people in their late 20s and early 30s ARE watching the show.  All eight of us receive messages daily from fans saying that they are so happy that the show finally dug back up its roots.  We are very excited to have been able to be a part of bringing The Real World back to life and hope that our viewers continue to enjoy the season.

Both of them were really sweet but I hope that in a few years they will be able to provide more constuctive answers.
